Behavioral Medicine Unit of Acadia-St. Landry Hospital is a 10 bed secured (locked) inpatient unit. It offers highly structured programs and services for adult and geriatric psychiatric healthcare needs. The program provides specialized care for chemical dependency, mental illness, depressive illnesses, grief and loss issues, and emotional problems and/or psychiatric stabilization. Emphasis is placed on relapse prevention. It also offers the Bridgeway program which is a partial hospitalization day treatment unit, 4 or 5 days per week. Intensive outpatient program offers less intensive psychiatric services such as therapy and/or medication management. Bridgeway works with referral sources and families to increase the quality of life for its patients.
