About

The Deaf Action Center offers services for the deaf/blind in the Diocese of Lafayette. Services offered are: 1) Interpreting Services – 24 hours/7 days a week; 2) Equipment Distribution – LCD; 3) Outreach Activities – to groups in all 8 parishes. Other activities include masses and religious education classes and workshops, Cajun Camp (2-week summer camp), annual picnic-ICDA 1st Sunday in June, weekend Bingo-Council on Aging, exercise, crafts, field trips, Braille, Sign Language Classes (adults/children) are offered on Tuesdays from 6:00-8:00 pm. 4) Hearing Aids may be obtained through the Deaf Action Center by referral to Commission of the Deaf in Baton Rouge.
