Louisiana Assistive Technology Access Network (LATAN) is a statewide, non-profit organization which advocates for assistive technology access for individuals of all ages with all types of disabilities. LATAN’s mission is to assist individuals with disabilities to achieve a higher quality of life and greater independence through increased access to assisted technology as part of their daily life. LATAN’s program developers allow LATAN to serve the rural, under-represented areas of Louisiana which have less of a chance of being exposed to the latest technology; and through new programs and services, LATAN is developing direct service programs for individuals with disabilities in the following areas: equipment recycling, reduced interest loans, a peer support network, assistive technology assessments and training, and employment training.
