LeCarp is an adult day care center for the elderly and persons 18 and older with disabilities, who are ambulatory (i.e. persons with 1st stage Alzheimer’s Disease, stroke victims, mild mental retardation, etc.). It is a bridge between the home and the nursing home. Transition assistance is available should the client need to be placed in a nursing home. The nursing staff transports clients to medical appointments, and if needed with accompany them in. The Center also provides blood work. Activity programs keep the clients busy with bingo, crafts, outings, field trips and walks. Services includes individualized exercise program, daily health services, daily health education classes, individualized training in the activities of daily living, health and nutrition counseling and educational development opportunities. Lunch and two snacks are provided daily. Transportation is provided daily. Persons in the following parishes are eligible: St. Landry, part of Lafayette, Evangeline and part of Acadia.
