Provides primary and routine outpatient care to nearly 20,000 veterans. Eligible veterans will get primary, preventative-health and basic mental health services. Local veterans can get an enrollment application. Veterans who want information about volunteering at the clinic or serving on the Houma Veterans Affairs Clinic Advisory Council can call. The 354-bed acute care facility and its Lindy C. Boggs Transitional Care Unit located in New Orleans were affected by flooding following Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. Plans are underway to re-establish an outpatient clinic offering primary care and mental health services at the New Orleans facility in December 2005. The clinic will be located on the 9th and 10th floors of the Medical Center’s Lindy C. Boggs Transitional Care Unit at 1601 Perdido St., New Orleans, LA.
