1) Disaster Services during times of flood, fire, tornado, hurricane or other disasters; 2) Lodge – Short-term lodging for homeless men (5 nights per month). Check in time for overnight guests is from 4:00-10:00 pm. Early arrival is suggested, bring picture ID. (22 beds available) 3) Hot Meals – served to individuals and families at 212 6th street at 5:00 daily 4) Emergency assistance – food, clothing, furniture, discount vouchers for Greyhound Bus Lines. Hrs: 8:30am-3:30pm/Monday-Friday 5) Pick up service – for donations in kind – for resale in thrift store. 6) Worship Services – 10:00 am Sunday school for all ages; 11:00 am Worship Services; Bible Study 6:30 pm. Wednesdays: Prayer Meeting at 6:00 pm; 6:30 pm Women’s Ministry. 7) Group activities – Ladies Home League, character building programs for all ages, Summer Camp (some restrictions may apply), Sunday School, Worship Services, Bible Study; Men’s club monthly. 8) Christmas and Thanksgiving – for families (meals, food, gifts, and toys)
9) League of Mercy – visits shut-ins, nursing home residents, and persons in hospitals. 10)Food Pantry: People must bring proof of income, expenses, picture ID and Social Security cards or printouts for everyone living in the household. They distribute food Monday-Friday from 8:30-3:30pm. 11) School Uniforms: Salvation Army sponsored a school uniform and supply drive for Lafayette Parish students. Accepts donations of new and used uniforms and school supplies. Distributes to families in need through application process. Call 235-2407 (School Uniform Drive application and pick-up is in July) for more information. 12) Salvation Army also assists families of deployed servicemen and servicewomen. 13) Drug and Alcohol Rehab available at our Baton Rouge and New Orleans locations (call for details). 14) Transitional “Beds” available for clients with “Full-Time” employment @ $35/week. Must have proof of employment. Payment must be made weekly in advance. Call shelter for details and availability of beds (337-235-2407).
